Welcome to Mumbai Chapter,

The Nutrition Society of India (NSI) established in 1967 is an association of nutrition professionals, programmers, and policymakers from India and abroad. The society is dedicated to disseminating the results of the latest research in nutrition – basic and applied aspects; analyze the current status of nutrition programs in the country and recommend appropriate strategies to promote nutrition of the community at large. NSI has 36 zonal chapters of which NSI Mumbai is one of the active chapter, dedicated to carrying forward the objectives of the parent body.

What Do We Do?

NSI Mumbai has been conducting various community outreach programmes to empower various vulnerable communities such as expecting mothers, lactating mothers, children, tribal women, elderly etc. NSI Mumbai is also dedicated to disseminating new scientific information to nutritionists and dietitians by conducting various research conference and workshops.

Even during the COVID-19 lockdown, NSI Mumbai continued this endeavour by organizing various webinars.

Publications

Lastly, NSI Mumbai is dedicated to publishing various training manuals and booklets to upskill the next generation of professionals and spread accurate health and nutrition knowledge amongst masse
To reach out to a larger audience and spread awareness using evidence based nutrition and health information across the world, NSI Mumbai embarked on social media journey in January 2020. Since then, we have shared posts on various topics such as immunity, health benefits of different types of foods, nutrition during various stages of life, health days of national and international importance, etc.
NSI Mumbai Chapter has also won the “Best Performing Chapter Prize” for the year “2018-2019” at the Annual National Conference of Nutrition Society of India held in Kerala in 2019.
