Effect of Climate Change On Food Safety and Safe Food for Strong Health

Dr. Singhal gave a talk on effect of climate change on food safety. Dr. Singhal started her session with a brief introduction on climate change and how it is affecting the world economy. She explained various impacts of climate change on water quality, increase allergens, food quality and quantity, and water supply which directly affect human health. She elaborated the effect of climate change microbes. She also discussed about zoonotic diseases which are caused due to climate change. Dr. Gupta gave a talk on safe food for strong health. She started her talk by explaining concept of food safety and introduced the audience to FSSAI. She discussed the Eat Right India movement, it’s function and how Eat Right India function is continuing through the COVID lockdown. She highlighted the important of Indian cuisine and its effect of food safety and health as Indian cuisine is rich in herbs and spices which are full of medicinal properties.
