Successful Breastfeeding with Healthcare Workers

Dr. Jindal discussed about role of healthcare in breastfeeding in Wards, OPDs, NICU & delivery ward, breast crawl for C Section deliveries, colostrum, importance of mother baby bonding and touch soon after delivery and different latching & feeding positions. Ms. Shilpi discussed about feeding duration, frequency, signs of adequate feeding. She also discussed how to express breastmilk and storage of expressed breastmilk. Dr. Surabhi discussed about various difficulties faced by mother during feeding such as flat nipple, engorgement, mastitis, abscess; indications for use of supplement, growth charts. Dr. Singhania discussed in details about feeding during sickness specially during COVID-19 infection, disadvantages of formula milk and providing emotional and psychological support to a new mother. This free training webinar was conducted in association with Niramaya Foundation and Nourish 1000 days to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week.
