Food Safety and Security- Practical Aspects – World Food Day 2018.

A symposium was organized in collaboration with MMP Shah Women’s College, Mumbai to celebrate World Food Day on 16th October 2018.
Speakers:
• Dr. Sheetal Gupta- Role of FSSAI in food safety and security
• Dr. Rita Patil- Food Security
• Dr. Gajanan Patil- Introduction and Demonstration on detecting food adulteration
What was covered in the seminar:
• Created awareness among undergraduate students and their parents on food safety and security.
• They were also oriented on the role of FSSAI in food safety.
• Demonstration on identifying adulterants in foods helped the participants to realise the need for being vigilant while purchasing foods and also to test the foods for adulterants using household ingredients.
