Dr. Anne started by speaking about the food and nutrition perspective and by highlighting the importance the gut health and the role of the microbiome, and how modern lifestyle has reduced the amount of diversity of plant fiber we eat. Further, she explained various studies conducted to study the gut microbiome she explained about microbes and how they affect different parts of our body and health overall. She explained its key and emerging functions. Various microbiome drivers like medications, stress, maternal diet, environment were explained. Further, she elaborated the diet influence the gut microbiome and how important it is to have a proper well-balanced diet. For a good and healthy gut. Later she explained the various test kits available in the market to check gut health. She also explained the role of prebiotics and probiotics. She ended the session by explaining how important grains play a role in gut health.
