National Girl Child Day & Republic Day 2018

Date: 24th January 2018

National Girl Child Day was celebrated by the chapter in collaboration with ICDS at Chembur, Mumbai on 24th January 2018. Around 100 adolescent girls participated in the program. They were assessed for BMI, WHR and Dietary Habits. Assessment was conducted by Dr. Subhadra Mandalika (Convener), Ms. Minelly Rodrigues, Ms. Bhakti and Dr. Neha Joshi. Sessions on Nutrition Awareness and Education and Health and Hygiene with special emphasis on Menstrual Hygiene were conducted by Dr. Anuradha Mitra and Dr. Neha Joshi. Snacks were provided to all the participants.

Another program was organized to commemorate National Girl Child Day by the chapter in collaboration with Smt. MMP Shah Women’s College, Matunga on 25th January 2018. Dr. Anuradha Mitra conducted a Nutrition Awareness Seminar for adolescent girls as a part of this program.

Date: 26th January 2018

PG Department of Dr. BMN College of Home science celebrated the Republic Day in Amulak School, Matunga where Nutritional Assessment (BMI) of 200 school children was conducted by the Staff and Students. Students and Parents of the school were also counselled on health and Nutrition by the life members of NSI Mrs. Anuradha Shekar and Dr. Rupali Sengupta. This event was organized on 26th January 2018 to celebrate Republic Day.
