Prevention and Management of Depressive Disorders: Clinical & Dietary Perspectives

This webinar was organized to commemorate World Mental Health Day (10th October 2020. Dr. Sagar spoke about the clinical perspectives of depressive disorders. He began he talk by introducing the theme for World Mental Health Day 2020 which is “Mental Health for All: Greater Investment- Greater Access.’ He spoke about the prevalence of depression in India, specifically among adolescents as well as older adults. He further talked about how common depression is and what are various signs & symptoms to identify depression among individuals.

Dr. Rocks spoke about the ‘Dietary Strategies in the Prevention and Management of Depression”. She highlighted the beneficial effects of a Mediterranean diet as well as presented the results of some dietary intervention studies. Thus, suggesting that diet can be modifiable factor in the prevention and management of depression.
